A new selection of paintings by Scotland's greatest artists at Kirkcudbright Town Hall. Open daily from 10am to 6pm. Admission is free.
Fleet Valley Open Exhibition 2011
The Mill on the Fleet - Saturday 30th July to Wednesday 24th August
An open exhibition for artists to submit works which celebrate the Galloway landscape. The exhibition is open to professional artists, amateurs, students and young people.
Gatehouse Gala Week
Sunday 31st July to Saturday 6th August 2011
This is an annual event which has been held in Gatehouse of Fleet for over 60 years. The gala committee work hard all year to organise this week assisted by many Gatehouse residents.
This week provides a range of events and activities to keep the whole family entertained.
Galloway Country Fair
Drumlanrig Castle, Thornhill
Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st August - 9.00am to 6.00pm
Set in the dramatic grounds of Drumlanrig Castle, Galloway Country Fair will see a wide variety of activities and events appealing to people of all ages.The weekends entertainment includes: archery, armed forces mobile assault course, Buccleuch hound parade, clay pigeon shoot, cooking demonstrations, fishing demonstrations, frontline falconary static and flying display, Galloway gun dog parade, Galloway gun dog scurry, Galloway outdoor laser quest, Jason the Juggling Jester and Daffy Dill, pole lathing demonstrations, "Physics in the Field" by the institute of physics Scotland, Quack Commandos, terrier racing, The Royal Regiment of Scotland mortar display, Thornhill pipe band, VT10 aerial acrobatics, Waulkmill cider apple pressing demonstration.
Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities
Full summer of events has been provided in Kirkcudbright for almost 40 years. During the course of the summer there is a 3 day art and craft trail, a 2 day Garden and Countryside Fair, nights of Scottish mucic and dance, a half-marathon, vintage car and tractor rallies, riding of the marches ceremony, decorated vehicle parade, and much much more
Regular Events
Gatehouse Country Market
First Saturday of each month from 9.30am to 1.00pm at the Kiosk in the Main Car Park. A range of stalls selling quality food produce from around Galloway. Bread, meat, eggs, vegetables, cheese, jams and preserves.
Asmaller weekly market takes place every Saturday morning, providing bread, baking and meat.
Stewartry Walking for Health
Gatehouse walks are every Tuesday afternoon. Meet in the Main Car Park at 2.00pm. No need to book.
