Well equipped cottage

Pros: Well equipped kitchen, spacious living room and bedrooms, soft beds. Clean cottage. Beautiful views.

Lovely, well appointed cottage in a convenient location

Pros: The cottage is beautiful and in a lovely location easily accessible from the main road, although you'd never know it once you're there. The decor and fittings are all very fresh, the place was clean, parking easy, and it is conveniently located for going out and about. The weather was terrible when I was there, very wet and windy, but the cottage was weather tight with no annoying rattles or drips. The locals were all very friendly, helpful and chatty and Moffat was a gem of a place to visit, and only a few miles away. The bed was comfortable and the duvet warm, and the shower cubicle big enough for two! A really delightful cottage that I look forward to visiting again soon.

Cons: The only thing I had a slight issue with was the heating. There was nothing wrong with it but it was set at a low 17 degrees during the day, presumably because they expect people to go out during the day, but because of the weather and the fact I needed rest, I was in most days. There was an excellent fire in the living room if you wanted to stay in that room, but the rest of the house was too cold to comfortably sit and write/draw/do crosswords etc in the kitchen or bedroom. It would be fine in summer but in December it wasn't. In the evenings, when the temperature was set higher, it was perfectly comfortable. Perhaps some reassessing of the best temperatures to set is required, particularly in winter.

Cottage is great...garden steals the show!

Pros: The place is huge! Every room is massive and was spotless when I arrived. Great communication from the host. The best thing, though, is the garden! I'm staying again next week while I'm travelling for work and have instructed my girlfriend that she and our dog Miss Blossom has to join me. A fantastic place to stay; every amenity you could wish for, true peace and quiet from the location and a great host in Erin. You should stay here!

Cons: If I'm being extremely picky, the drive up to the cottage is very degraded and full of pot holes and bumps. You have to take it very slowly and weave to avoid the worst of it.
