Great weekend away

Pros: Property was in a great location. A lovely welcome pack on arrival. Great log burner and everything you need for a weekend away.

Cons: No fault of the owners of the cottage but there was a farmer with his tractor pumping water all day/night.

A great spot!

Pros: Fantastic location for lots of lovely walks straight from your door. Parked up and didn’t use the car at all for a few days. Great to be slightly out of the village but close enough to make good use of the coffee shops, restaurants, shops and pubs all within easy walking distance. A cosy and comfortable cottage with a lovely large sofa with plenty of room for all of us. Perfect sized dishwasher. The hosts were very helpful and offered lots advice when I contacted them before the start of the holiday.

Cons: The cleanliness let it down a little. Shelves in the kitchen were very dusty and the drawers in the kitchen had lots of crumbs and dust in them. The living room smelt a little of dog (and we are dog owners and had our dogs with us but still noticed this the first time we walked in) despite the plug in air freshener. The smoke alarm kept beeping intermittently. I contacted the agency who gave some advice but it continued and only stopped when it was hoovered and all the dust removed. The shower screen does not meet the bath edge so the bathroom floor got VERY wet every time it was used, but it was lovely and hot and a powerful jet. The single beds are very narrow so probably better suited to younger children rather than our teenage boys!
