Garden Cottage

Absolutely perfect location, stunning scenery and lovely place for a couple or solo.

Pros: The space was open with lots of natural light. Lovely views over to Catbells and the fells with double doors leading out to a private patio area. Lovely to sit there in the afternoon sunshine. There was fresh milk, biscuits and a bottle of wine to welcome us. The place was clean and towels/ bedding all smelt fresh. Very well equipped too for whatever you might need to cook and cleaning products provided too. There was a welcome booklet with details of local area and how to work everything. No issues throughout the stay.

Cons: The only thing I can point out if I was to nitpick would be there were lots of cobwebs in corners and behind the bed, above the bath etc. I may have noticed this more because I am petrified of spiders but perhaps just a quick once over in the corners and behind furniture I between stays.

Cons: Checkout time was too early and the lack of a radiator in the bathroom made drying the towels awkward. Housekeeping needs to check the tops of the walls and ceiling for cobwebs. We easily got rid of them. Just a little more care and attention would have given this place top marks

We had a fantastic stay, lucky with the weather. The Lake District is beautiful!

Pros: Everything about the property was good. Lovely views, easy parking, outside space.

Cons: We had 2 problems with the shower/bath. We phoned the property management company on Sunday morning. Finally one problem was dealt with on Wednesday and the second was not dealt with before we left on Saturday. Review comments regarding the uneven access road really do not cause a problem for any car. The roads around where we live have far worse potholes!

The mountaintop view inspires you to get out and climb them. Garden Cottage, is close enough to town to be convienent,

Pros: The mountaintop view was spectacular, the bed comfortable, the water hot, and the washing machine a blessing. Cozy and quiet it was a great place to relax and retreat from the rains.

Cons: The long driveway to up to the accommodations NEEDS to be repaired!!! It is reprehensible. The ruts are so deep, even with careful and slow navigation, it causes damage to your vehicle. / Two easy fixes for future guests (we hope will be seen to) is the drippy shower and perhaps a second roll of toilet paper for those staying a week.
