Idilic place to spend Christmas.

Pros: Gorgeous location near castle with lovely walks, the cottage was pretty and very spacious, comfortable and well equipped.

Lovely peaceful stay excellent for the dog.

Pros: It was a self catering accommodation the property was in a stunning location if you like peace and quiet. It was ideal for the dog as it had an enclosed garden the views were fantastic and there were plenty of walks from the property, with the Castle to visit as a bonus.|

Cons: Nothing everything was what we expected.

Relaxing contry break

Pros: We loved our stay at the cottage. The fire was the best part but we loved the whole place! Great walks to do all round the castle and grounds, lots of sheep walking freely. Our dog loved it too, the garden round the cottage was perfect to let her out. So relaxing and quiet as well but only 8 mins drive if you need a shop.

Cons: Nothing, it was amazing!

Fantastic

Pros: Lovely spacious, clean, comfy cottage, located a stones throw from the main drive to the castle. Located on the main mountain bike routes & cycle routes and only a short walk to the walking trails. Fully equipped kitchen with plenty of storage cupboards, 3 spacious bedrooms, takes dogs. Comfy beds. Bathroom downstairs with powerful shower. Loads to do throughout the castle grounds & ideal for all family members. A little out building to store scooters & skateboards in the rear yard & the estate offices let us store our bikes in one of their out buildings across from the cottage.

Cons: The estate office is to the side of the cottage, although not over imposing, you do drive through the car park to get to the cottage & the cottage over looks one of the car parks so you don't feel completely in the middle of nowhere. Bike storage in the rear yard would be perfect. Sharp kitchen knives would be a bonus. The rear door sticks, so it's difficult to close properly, especially when using the latch. All the above are minor observations & didn't spoil the holiday in any way. They're just my suggestions which would make this great cottage even better.

Perfect short trip in a beautiful setting!

Pros: Beautiful cottage. Tastefully decorated, great facilities and gorgeous location. Loads of free roaming sheep, lambs, quite a few pheasants and various squirrels in the grounds. Short drive into nearest town with shops and a few cafes/places to eat.
