Brilliant place to stay

Pros: When Im down this neck of the woods I always choose here as its exceptionally well priced. I feel comfortable and safe. The rooms are comfortable, clean and staff very welcoming.

Cons: For the 1st time I experienced a short power cut. It was good the safety lights came on. However it was a bright ceiling light. If this had been on all night it would have been difficult to sleep. I would have preferred a bedside light. Other than that everything was prefect.

Pros: No breakfast was provided and provision in local area is limited.

Cons: Booking.com provided misleading info regarding distance to Wigtown. I chose Creetown over Newton Stewart as Booking.com indicated it was closer to Wigtown which it is by direct distance but I have to go through Newton Stewart to get to Wigtown. This also happened when I booked for Hartlepool and Booking.com recommended Redcar but didn't say that I had to travel through Middlesborough first so Sunderland would have been a better choice as it is on the same train line although further away. Check-in arrangements are very poor as there was no-one at reception and I had to phone a number to get instructions even though I arrived within the times given (around 8pm) - in fact I met no staff at all during my visit and not everyone has a phone with them.

Great value accommodation and enjoyed the area!

Pros: Very spacious accommodation, nice touch that towels provided and en-suite toilet and shower made a huge difference. Kitchen area was great and we were able to cook our evening meal in the air fryer. Very quiet location and a good base for days activities in the local area. We particularly enjoyed the gem rock museum in the village!

Pros: Great location for getting the ferry from cairnryan. It's clean and the shower is a good pressure and hot!

Cons: The beds are a little squeaky and unfortunately my TV didn't work

Comfortable for the price.

Pros: Stayed last Saturday of August. Simple room. Shame we couldn't push the two single beds together to make a double. Well equipped kitchen to prepare your own meals. Large Sainsbury's in Newton Stewart. Good location for Kirroughtree Forest walks; especially if you want to experience the Dark Sky Park.

Cons: Staff didn't respond when we messaged/telephoned about leaving our thermos flask in the room. Wanted to know if it had been found so we could return to collect. Had to buy another one.
