Would definitely stay here again.

Pros: Convenient little hut with everything one needs for a comfortable stay after a day’s hiking. Very keen on the amount of animals.

Cons: Only down side is that dogs aren’t allowed. Understandable given the amount of livestock around the site though. Wi-Fi seemed temperamental, but you just need to make sure the router is in the right position in the cabin and is actually on.

Comfy, cosy, countryside retreat

Pros: Comfiest bed ever, brill attention to detail in may aspects, such as the little brownie bites and the games provided!!

Cons: The only slight issue was the WiFi didn’t work for our stay but not an issue for us really.

Great option for cosy shepherds hut!

Pros: The quality of the construction of the hut, and the facilities were great, big shower, lots of hot water! Also lots of little extras like bath robes, good coffee, locally made products shower gel, hand and body lotion.

Pros: Cute little Shepherds hut with fabulous surroundings. Lovely to get away from the hustle and bustle and have peace and quiet. Literally on your own in a field with horses and chickens. Clean, extremely comfy and well equipped. Log burner was brilliant as we’ve stayed in November. The internet was hit and miss all over Penrith but I quite liked not being able to go on my phone and enjoy the countryside, nature and the walks. Michelle is really helpful and friendly and you get welcomed at the gate by 2 happy dogs. We will definitely be returning as we loved it.

Peaceful gate away

Pros: The accommodation was spacious, the sofa and log burner is a nice touch in a Shepherds Hut. The place was clean, cosy and warm. Peaceful setting within a short distance to Penrith and Keswick. A perfect way to spend a weekend in Autumn. Hopefully, we will back in the summer.

Cons: The WiFi was temperamental but it wasn’t a big issue. It was refreshing being off our phones and not being contactable!

Very happy stay

Pros: It was very cosy and peaceful with beautiful surroundings. The hut was very clean and comfortable. Most enjoyable.

Cons: Nothing we didn't like. It was a lovely place.

Pros: We were only here for one night as cycling the C2C. The location is fantastic and barely off the prescribed route at all. The hut is set in its own space away from all other housing and has views across the fields. The outdoor seating area was perfect for us on a dry day. Clean and comfortable throughout.

Pros: Unbelievably comfortable bed - like seriously, it doesn’t get better than that. The whole hut is furnished so well and to a really high standard. Lovely local Lake District soaps to use in the bathroom. Fantastic view. So so quiet. Beautiful, peaceful surroundings.

Cons: It is quite far from anything so a car is preferably. But honestly, if you want a countryside retreat, you can’t do better than this.
