A really lovely property, just watch your head on the low ceilings upstairs.

Pros: Loved the location, comfy bed and huge bath. Lots of birds in the trees outside and particularly liked the view from the toilet window! The area was very quiet even though there is other accommodation quite close by. The massive umbrella came in very handy when out walking in the rain.

Cons: The only thing missing was some tea, coffee and milk which would have been great considering how much we paid. Also disappointed all the squirrels were in hiding.

Great walking weekend with cosy log burner

Pros: Very rural part of village just 5 min walk from The Swan Inn

Cons: All good but care needed on staircase as very steep climb but great use of space.

Perfect perfect perfect!

Pros: The cutest little cottage with the most beautiful surroundings. It was well equipped and clean. Clear instructions and guide book with local recommendations. The garden was beautifully presented. Excellent location, 5/7 minutes walk into Grasmere. We also got engaged on this trip so it will forever hold a special place in our heart! We will definitely be back.

Cons: Nothing! Only thing to mention is the number of steps and small head space however, my partner is over 6ft and this wasn’t a problem for him

Fantastic weekend away!

Pros: The location was absolutely perfect! Such a cozy quiet stay. Would definitely recommend.

Cons: Stated on website that there was a washing machine however upon arriving we couldn’t find one.

A perfectly located and well appointed characterful property.

Pros: We loved the location, it's an easy walk into Grasmere, but far enough away from the village and the main road to be nice and quiet and 'at one' with nature. It was the RSPB's 'dawn chorus day' while we were there and the dawn chorus is amazing at this property as there are so many trees around the birdlife is fantastic. An added treat, which we were ecstatic about was the red squirrels that come to feed on the squirrel feeder in the garden. You can literally watch them from the bed as you're drinking your morning cuppa! The property is small, but perfectly formed and the garden is spacious, so if you're lucky enough to have good weather there's space to expand and spread out. It feels fairly private too although there are a few properties overlooking it.

Cons: It's a little dark, but if you're lucky enough to have good weather you can open the stable door and let the outside in. The steps to the first floor is a ladder that you need to be careful on. You really need to use both hands and not wear socks. You need to come down backwards too. You have to stoop to use the upstairs bathroom sink. Other than that it's a lovely characterful property and all the property features have been beautifully restored.

Very good, almost perfect

Pros: Really nice location, had almost everything we needed, great to have off-road parking as well. The info booklet was very helpful for planning walks etc. The TV having Netflix was a nice thing, and the bed was very comfortable

Cons: Would have been nice to have a little bit of tea and coffee there, upon realising there was none provided we had to nip out and get some after an 8 hour drive which was a (minor) gripe of ours. It was also quite awkward to have a shower, having to lie down in the bath/crouch awkwardly because of the low roof, but aware that there’s not much that could be done about that given the small nature of the cottage
