Had a much needed break and Brodie Cottage was a delightful home from home

Pros: The exterior needs to be tidied up a bit but the interior is spotlessly clean and there’s everything you need for a comfortable stay. All the rooms are very comfortable and very fit for purpose. We mainly had bad weather but it was a pleasure to come “home” to the cottage. Loved being there.

Cons: The main problem is the location. Aspatria has obviously seen better days and there are limited amenities although we met some lovely local people particularly in the Letters Inn pub. You definitely need transport to visit the lakes etc. Slight confusion with the address on the Booking.com advert. It’s no. 9 Lawson Street not 55 and there’s no sign to say it’s called Brodie Cottage.
