Fantastic property in a stunning location, ideal for families with lots of lovely beaches nearby.

Pros: Beautiful property, absolutely spotless and ideal for our family of 5. The children loved that the twin room had its own living room space and the children’s toys were a lovely touch. We haven’t stayed in such a well equipped property. The location was fantastic, 30 seconds and we were on a rocky beach which was perfect for our rock pooling mad children. Garlieston is a gorgeous little village and we loved making the woodland walk to Rigg Bay, we even managed a day of swimming! We couldn’t recommend the property enough and would love to go back.

Cons: The only down side for us was that there was no washing machine due to space. Our personal preference would have been a washing machine instead of a dishwasher.

Walking, cycling and swimming are all on the doorstep of this fabulous house in a wonderful location

Pros: This house was spotlessly clean, comfortable and very-well equipped. A real home from home. The location is both beautiful and tranquil. The village is quaint and the people very friendly.

Cons: In an ideal world, a washing machine would have been useful but we were aware that there wasn't one and there isn't really room for one.

One of our favourite places to stay, ever!

Pros: The house was excellent - just as it was described and pictured on the site. Mary left us some complimentary goodies, which we wolfed down and she also arranged for the most unexpectedly pleasant weather too(!) There were passing people to chat to, if we were so inclined, but it was just as easy to sit peacefully and watch what was going on in the harbour. I swam in the sea at the shingly beach (which was just a minute's walk around the corner) and also at the beautiful Rigg bay beach (which was about a 40 minute walk). There were plenty of walks - which usually involved stopping for an ice cream at the nearby Hive Cafe. The house was just brilliant and the area was ideal for us - beautiful and peaceful.

Cons: Life's too short for nit-picking, so I won't!
