A delightful stay in perfect surroundings - food for the soul!

Pros: The location was idyllic. Wooded setting, tranquil and really surrounded by nature

Cons: The mattress in the second bedroom was a little firm for our taste but otherwise everything was perfect.

Perfect retreat, in beautiful location.

Pros: The Shack was perfect for our needs. Location was ideal and beautiful, whether we wanted a ride into Cally Woods or a stroll into Gatehouse. Also well located for the coast and places like Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas. The Shack was lovely too. Clean, spacious and well equipped. The wine and biscuits on arrival were a lovely touch too. Hard to fault. And of course, the daily visits of the red squirrels was the icing on the cake. Magic.

Cons: Nothing to fault. We would have liked sunshine every day but you can’t have everything!

A lovely week at The Shack, we loved the walks from the house and the homely touches.

Pros: It was well laid out with lots of little touches that made our stay more comfortable. The beds were very comfy and it was all really clean. It was a beautiful spot in the woods and even during rainy days enabled you to feel close to nature.

Cons: The leather sofas, but this is the same wherever we stay.
