Country Home on Private Estate

It was a delight to stay at Monkwood, we wish we owned such a lovely house.

Pros: Beautiful house and grounds, swimming pool was a huge hit with our grandkids, loved the dining room and the lounge with cosy log fire.

Cons: Nothing, we had no complaints, our family had a wonderful stay.

Amazing stay overall - I would have no hesitation to book again.

Pros: Amazing and exceptionally well maintained house that accommodates a large group of people with ease. Fully stocked kitchen with cutlery and crockery with four ovens and two dishwashers, which was a nice bonus, as we cook breakfast/lunch/dinners and it helped to keep on top of all the dishes. Multiple living rooms so it never felt crowded. Lovely open fireplace and Piano in main living room. Accurate pictures and the house was warm throughout our stay. The pool / sauna area exceeded expectations and was a warm and comfortable space to relax. Lewis was a great host and very welcoming.

Cons: Nothing negative to note - great stay and memories made.

Huge retreat with lots of areas for everyone to chill out in and the pool was great and you can do nice walks or a run

Magnificent Monkwood House

Pros: Three generations had an amazing stay at the magnificent Monkwood House. Well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Plenty of space to enjoy ourselves. None of us wanted to leave! Lewis was extremely accommodating and helpful.

Fabulous and relaxing time, lovely house and grounds.

Pros: We stayed at the house in order to attend a family wedding nearby and also for a mini break to catch up with other family members beforehand. The swimming pool and sauna exceeded expectations and the youngsters even made use of the tennis court. Everyone had a brilliant time. Great communication about check in/check out from Lewis who sorted a minor issue out straight away. Would book again.

Cons: Nothing.

Perfect place for a large family gathering.

Pros: Oodles of space - inside and out. Lots of character. A perfect place for a family get together and to chill out. Loved the pool and the sauna.

Cons: Nothing of any significance. It's an old (listed) building so you're not getting sterile perfection but it suited us just fine.

Perfect in every way. A lot of special memories made.

Pros: The house was perfect for a large family get together. It was spacious & each bedroom decorated beautifully. Lewis was very helpful in helping us to organise other aspects of our stay to make it the perfect weekend for a 4 week old to a 82 year old. The downstairs bedroom had great accessibility to the kitchen & garden for an elderly person. The gardens & grounds were coming into their own - azaleas & rhododendrons were beautiful, helped by the spectacular weather. The pool was great & enjoyed by all ages

Cons: We can honestly say that there wasn’t anything about the property that we didn’t like.

Simply amazing!

Pros: Stunning house, fabulous swimming pool and amazing gardens. Cannot find any faults. Group of adults and children stayed for 3 nights and we had a fabulous time. The hosts were brilliant and very accommodating engaging with their insurers to allow us to have extra day time visitors over for a BBQ and also being on hand to help start a broken down car.

Cons: Nothing - it was absolutely perfect!

Pros: Fantastic property and great experience, the property has everything you can think of, and some. The owner Lewis was on hand all the time and made our stay incredibly memorable.
