Cosy, pretty and eco friendly!

Pros: The hut is lovely, lovingly decorated (so many holiday let's are full of cheap mass-produced plastic tack) but the owners of this one have excellent taste! I had to wiggle the water pump a bit but that worked fine. Compost toilets are not new to me, so I quite enjoyed that semi- al fresco experience. I had a very enjoyable stay! I net the owner briefly and they were really pleasant to chat to.

Cons: I had no issue with either of these aspects but it's best to be aware that the hut is tiny. It's great for one person with very little luggage but may be a squeeze for 2. You are also in someone's garden. It's a nice garden with a lovely view but it is not a wide open space. There is water from a pump, a kettle and a microwave but no fridge (no problem for me as it was quite cold so my food was outside).

Cosy, comfy and so unique..love it!

Pros: My third stay ....the Granny Hut is so charming and comfortable. The lovely personal touches Zoe and Tony have in place give it a perfect ambience. It must be even lovelier in Spring and Summer. See you next year.

Cons: Nothing it s perfect

Shepherd's hut

Pros: I booked for 3 nights, the shepherds hut is a little gem ,rustic but cosy and comfortable and spotlessly clean ,the hosts are extremely welcoming and friendly ,nothing is too much trouble, I would highly recommend this for a short break .we also had use of fire pit and barbecue, will definitely be booking again in the future ...

Cons: Please be aware there are no shower facilities, and has a composting toilet which is fine for short visits and for us was not a big issue ,there is no cooker or hot running water but there is a microwave, toaster and kettle .

Me and my wife felt like we were at home. It was just everything you could ask for.

Pros: The views from the hut was brilliant open fields cattle birds little details here now. We were in the countryside yet five minutes from town. The house were brilliant very very friendly. Had a lovely barbecue under the tree with a glass of wine I say what more could you ask for?

Peace and calm

Pros: Very peaceful and clean. Well equipped with microwave and kettle, crockery, cutlery. Double socket with 2 USB ports by the bed. Recycling bins for paper, card and some CLEAN plastics available, all explained in the purple folder on top of the microwave. Host was lovely and very helpful.

Cons: I knew there was no bathroom before I went, so it kind of doesn't count. Take some wet wipes and a small rubbish bag with you, and dispose of responsibly in the grey bin.

Excellent and just what we were looking for. A super bolt hole.

Pros: Perfect place to stay before undertaking part of Southern Upland Way walk the following day. Very hospitable and friendly hosts. Quirky place.
