Another fantastic stay at the old farmhouse in braithwaite.
Pros: This is the second time we had stayed and we love this property. Wonderful and helpful staff (our hot water was broken the first evening and they not only gave us an alternative place to shower but ensured it was fixed quickly the next day, and kept us up to date with progress via WhatsApp - thank you Lorraine), an absolutely fantastic location, and perfect facilities.
Cons: The parking is quite tight (I’d recommend a small rental if you’re getting one) but it’s not a big issue and the staff let you know if there are alternative spots available.

Pros: The apartment was lovely and clean. It had ample room and was well-located. We used it as a base and went off walking each day. There are plenty of local walks that you can go on. There is a village shop which is located within a 2 minute walk, plus a couple of pubs. Braithwaite itself is only 10 minutes drive to Keswick also so very well located. Would definitely visit again and recommend to others.
Cons: The only downsides if we were to choose any was the narrow entryway to this particular cottage. Our car got through with wing mirrors in. I can imagine some larger cars would struggle. It’s best to check before you go! You do have your own designated parking so parking itself is easy. The other thing is that in this apartment you are on the ground floor and the walls are very thin. So you could hear a lot of noise from upstairs. There’s nothing which can be done about that and it didn’t cause too much of a problem for us. We were already aware of these potential problems from other reviews we’d read.

Pros: It was, clean, comfortable and great value for money.
Cons: The only problem was the draught from the main door and cottage door but, we wedged a newspaper in the gap of the cottage door which solved the problem.

Pros: We loved the location, very spacious, clean, warm and cosy cottage, perfect for what we needed. Well stocked kitchen and amenities. For an extra touch it would’ve been nice to have some small welcome items on arrival even if just some teabags and small milk after a long journey, but we loved everything else, that would’ve just topped it off :)
Cons: The bed was too soft for our liking. It felt like the mattress had collapsed on one side making it quite uncomfortable for my husband every night.
