Pros: Cosy cottage. Massive bedroom with fab shower. Lovely views from living room across fields. Compact kitchen with everything needed for short break.
Cons: 2 burner electric hob kept turning off. Prob my fault as used to gas.

Excellent farm cottage - best we've ever stayed in!
Pros: This is an outstanding and immaculate self-catering cottage... all the little details have been taken care of. THE MOST COMFORTABLE BED we have ever slept in on any stay away from home. Lovely walk-in shower with plenty of hot water and a grab handle for stepping up a shallow step in/out. It has a small, but quite adequate and well-equipped kitchen... we only needed to use fridge, freezer and microwave on this occasion. We were two adults - a couple - staying on this occasion (wonderful over-sized double bed) but the space could accommodate two adults and a couple of children in one good-size bedroom, which also has a single bed and a sleeper sofa.
Cons: Nothing, really. We would have liked to be actually the nearby village of Moniaive for events on this weekend. But we found that this beautiful rural location was quieter for sleeping, and really only a short drive away (note: we are used to driving on dark, narrow country roads). The owners give very good travel directions (and they warn guests not to rely on the postcode alone in your satnav). Google Maps did fine when you search for 'Boreland Farm Self-Catering Dunscore'. Note that the location is in open countryside, some distance from the of Dunscore (I suspect it's actually closer to Moniaive). We would definitely stay here again. Photos are both taken of the view from the sunny lounge/sitting room - one on a sunny morning, and the other on an 'improving' morning after rain is a close-up of approaching sheep.

Pros: Set in beautiful, peaceful, scenery. Owners are welcoming and helpful. The accommodation has all you could wish for, spacious, comfortable, and homely. My grandson enjoyed seeing all the animals!
Cons: I can't fault the place, only the distance to go anywhere, which, isn't always a negative.

Completely charming, relaxing and picturesque place. We will be coming back!
Pros: Super comfy, lovely beds, heating and hot water/water pressure. Staying on a farm (very safe) was amazing, with super friendly dogs, cats as well as sheep and horses. The views were incredible which made it completely relaxing. Hosts were very chatty and accommodating. Loved this place.

Wonderful quiet getaway in a beautiful rural location
Pros: What a wonderful cottage in such a beautiful, quiet rural location. The cottage was cosy and nicely furnished with an exceptionally comfy double bed (plus an additional single). Fully equipped kitchen too. Rock solid WiFi and mobile phone reception. The hosts are very response via messaging in the Booking app and friendly in person. The cottage is well placed to explore Dumfriesshire and the Galloway Forest Park a little further afield although you can hike over the hills and into the woods right from the cottage itself. Very highly recommended - I really can't think of a single thing I didn't like!

Lovely hosts, lovely setting, and lovely cottage. Clean & every comfort needed.
Pros: We love the peace & quiet, and the facilities are excellent. Yes the kitchen is small, but it has everything we needed, as we were out daily exploring the local area. Lovely views over the fields towards the hills. Loved it. We have stayed before, and will definiteley be back again.
Cons: A curtain or blind on the front door, is my only thought.
