Ideal overnight stop.

Pros: The location was ideal as we were getting the early ferry to Ireland next morning. We didn’t have breakfast for this reason but very much enjoyed our dinner of fish and chips. Our room was very comfortable and Fiona is an excellent host.

Warm, comfortable and relaxed.

Pros: The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The quality of our evening meal was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. Fiona made us feel extremely welcome and it was a pleasure chatting with her after dinner.

Pros: Fiona was really helpful with her advice about the ferry timing. The haddock and chips were the best we've had in a long time. It was lovely sitting chatting about her life over a couple of drinks. Highly recommend this venue if you have an early (or late!) start.

Fabulous and highly recommended

Pros: Lovelly experience, the host fiona was amazing and couldn’t do enough, room was spotless and Lovelly tea valuing facilities and treats. Plus my taxi didn’t make it to take me to the train station but it wasn’t a problem for fiona thx

Pros: Fiona was a fabulous host and Merchant House is a beautiful location for the ferry. I'd highly recommend Merchant House for great hospitality.

Pros: A thoroughly friendly place. So handy for the ferry terminals. Our room was a good size, comfortable with a great view over the Loch. We had dinner and breakfast and they were both excellent and good value. The people running the place could not have been friendlier. A very relaxing stay. I would not hesitate to book again.

Cons: The en suite was a bit small but it wasn't a problem.
