Pros: Suruchi was an exceptional host who was very easy to talk to. Relaxed & home from home. Open plan and nice to mix/ chat with similar minded guests. Fully equipped shared kitchen. Comfy bed. Electric blanket. Real fire. Fresh continental breakfast selection. Good WiFi

Cons: It’d be useful for there to be a lit sign from the main road. Not a dislike but would be useful when returning in the dark.

The place needs some TLC but I would happily stay again.

Pros: The place had a very homely feel to it and the staff we're so welcoming and friendly. The place attracts well mannered guests which makes you feel comfortable in the venue.

Cons: We weren't given enough towels or all the correct towels (missing hand towel and 1 persons set). When we were given all the towels they had brown marks on them. The bed was very firm, though this is a personal preference, and the pillows were so flat they might as well have not been there. Overall, the place seemed a little run down however this should not deter people from staying.

Pros: It’s of an excellent standard, very quiet with beautiful views. The communal areas are clean and restful as well as the room itself. Breakfast was very good. Nice touch having a hot tub in the grounds. Would recommend.

Cons: Occasionally the tv signal in the room was poor

Pros: We felt very welcomed and at ease with suruchi, she is a very attentive person and a pleasure to meet. The grounds are idyllic and our room was lovely. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to explore the north of the lakes district. Suruchi also has a great knowledge of the local area for anyone who needs ideas on what to do or where to go.

Cons: There was nothing we didn't like.

Pros: Suruchi is a wonderful host, welcoming and very helpful. Cozy room and good breakfast, had a lovely stay.

Pros: The hostess is exceptionally friendly and the access to refreshments at any time is very generous. The location is lovely and quiet.

Cons: Not the owner's fault, but booking.com didn't make it clear that the included breakfast is only continental (quite nice, but fresh coffee would be a bonus) and not the cooked version that other guests rave about.

Pros: Suruchi very welcoming . Happy to give advice on local sights etc. Even offered us a lift home if local buses were not running properly. Good shower.

Cons: Crossing the dual carriageway on foot leading in and out of the cottage. Especially at night.

Great for couples, families and flyers

Pros: We flew a light aircraft into a nearby airstrip, about 1.5 miles away, so we needed somewhere local to stay. It was pouring down after our evening meal at the Troutbeck Inn (also a mile and a half away), but Suruchi collected us. The plus points were: - .location - super friendly and helpful Suruchi - grate house with a communal living room/breakfast bar where you could brew up, make toast, etc. - if you want a great adventure get in touch with Roger at Lake District Gyroplanes to get a birds eye view of the Lakes
