Lovely accommodation, good location *****

Pros: Accommodation was lovely, clean and spacious. Good base for exploring the lake district too. We loved the owners had left tea bags, coffee and milk ready for our arrival, nothing better than a hot cuppa after hours of driving, so thank you. Our daughter had left something, owners more than happy to post to us, thank you ! We hope to return in the summer months 😊.

Just right for a couple of nights away...would recommend

Pros: Location was perfect...just a few miles from the event I was attending. Beautiful area...even in the horrendous stormy weather we experienced. Nice hot shower and comfy bed.

Cons: It would have been good to get the key code the night before....I needed to set off really early and assumed the code was on my last communication from Booking. com. ...which didn't work...had to call the office for their spare key.

Relaxing break

Pros: The caravan was very clean . It had everything you needed to have a stress free relaxing break . The site was very quiet . I will be happy to book again . There is also a very friendly pub only 2min walk .

Cons: There wasn't anything I didn't like

Beautiful location

Pros: The caravan was clean and well stocked. Access was clearly stated by the owner. The view from the deck was absolutely beautiful. It's a small, quiet site which was very nice. For those with kids the playground is directly opposite the caravan.

Cons: The site shop is closed on weekends so you have to drive to get groceries. The Mason Arms pub across the road says it's dog friendly, but if your dog wines or barks you get dirty looks from the manager. It's also so hot in there that it spoilt my meal. I mean is it too much to ask to crack a window in the middle of summer.

Fun and enjoyment in an amazing place

Pros: The location, the facilities, the helpful owners, the deck …….. we liked everything about the property

Cons: Everything was great, however be mindful that the single beds are narrow but that is the style of the caravan. Elbows got knocked a few times but it all added to the fun experience

Pros: Very quiet caravan park opposite a tremendous pub in The Mason's Arms. Lovely pub grub with pies to die for with the publican very friendly and helpful. Brilliant place for a single traveller with there being so much space but alternatively it would definitely fit a small family for sure. Gilcrux I would say is a peaceful area with very friendly folk who nevertheless keep to themselves. I would say the nearest train station is Aspatria some 3 to 4 miles away. Communication with Clare & Jonathan was brilliant who strike me as a couple only too willing to help and make your stay the best it can be.

Cons: The Caravan site has a shop but it keeps specific hours and you may have to come prepared for it to be closed at the week-end. It wouldn't be a problem of course if you drive to the property.
