The Old Dairy

quirky to the hilt!

Pros: the quirkiness, the old features, th compete pitch darkness at night, the low doorways and the access to the field behind plus the fully equipped kitchen made it very easy to cook properly.

Cons: ugh - never thought I would care that much about a shower but clearly I do to some degree. I loved this place but the shower really let it down. not so much the lack of pressure as the inability to stay set at a hot temperature. I wouldn’t let this stop me from returning but it’s an achilles heel in an otherwise fab property.

Pros: Very comfortable, heating excellent. Had everything I needed.

Cons: I have a more powerful shower at home so always a but disappointed when the shower lacks power.

Pros: The host was very responsive and helpful upon my delayed arrival. Warm and cozy, very easy to be there.

The Old Dairy suited us down to a tee.

Pros: Brought our food with us but coffee and biscuits were supplied and appreciated. Many little extras for cleaning were supplied.

Cons: Just the weather and you can,t change that.

Hidden gem

Pros: Location, space, privacy just to name few. Cottage got a lovely homely feel to it with sitting area outside. Kitchen very well equipped and shops just a short drive away in Dumfries. Great starting point for day trips.

Pros: Lovley clean well equipped little cottage. Great location just off the main road

Cons: Only thing I would say is the showers pressure kept dipping. I know water pressure isn't the best in Dumfries and Galloway. But I really can't fault it

Really nice and cozy property with great access to the area around Dumfries and we would stay again

Pros: Really nice and cozy property, plenty of space and easy access to attractions around Dumfries. Enjoyed the walks/garden areas of the property and the quirky features in the property (low corridors)

Cons: Might be silly but we couldn't find oven gloves or a hair dryer in the property and would be good to have both.

Pros: It was a lovely wee cottage, very clean and comfortable, it was a great couple of days for the kids and myself

Cons: Everything was excellent

Pros: Wonderful property, tranquil location. Would definitely hope to stay here again when returning to the area.
