We had a really delightful stay in the well appointed Lodge, despite Storm Amy.

Pros: The lodge was built to a high specification, it was very clean and the hosts had left us lots of useful food basics, such as fresh milk and a range of coffees, as well as some treats including biscuits and a bowl of fresh fruit. The kitchen was compact, but well appointed, with a double ring induction hob, double tier air fryer (and instructions), microwave and fridge. The shower was lovely. The hosts were very communicative and helpful. Set up on a hill in a quiet area, it was easily accessible. There was a cabin at the back which held such devices as freezer, washing machine and dryer. We loved it

Cons: I'm struggling to think of much we didn't like. Maybe having a bread knife, there were various other knives, and oven gloves would have been useful, but there were plenty of tea towels so we used them.

Welcoming, relaxing, calm.

Pros: Amazing hosts and lodge exceeded expectations. Clean, organised and well stocked. Really quiet area yet shops are only a few minutes drive away. 10/10. Booking here again soon.

Lovely peaceful long weekend

Pros: Beautiful lodge with a lovely view through the large patio doors and windows. Exceptionally maintained, everything looked new with all the well thought out extras of things like binoculars, fruit bowl , throws for sitting on the beautiful patio. Bathroom lovely with fabulous shower and comfy bathrobes, loved the mirror. Bedroom large , comfortable and lots of storage space. Comfy sofa and the fire was great. Kitchen had everything you needed . Thanks to the great hosts who left lots of treats and surprises which were very well received couldn't ask for more, definitely recommend.

I absolutely loved staying here, I felt so safe and had everything I could have asked for.

Pros: Castle Glen lodges is a lovely place to stay! I booked this accommodation for a month for placement which was absolutely ideal. Ewan and Donna had no problem accommodating me and their hospitality was amazing - Making sure my towels, sheets etc were always fresh. The accommodation is very local and easy to find and the patio view onto the fields is lovely! For any students or anyone looking to book here in the future I would highly recommend.

honest opinion

Pros: the lodge was outstanding the views were out of this world the wild life was magnificent the whole place was a magnificent wonderland and Ewan couldn't have more helpful he was a magnificent host we will surely be going back

Cons: everything was perfect nothing not to like

The weather didn't do us any favours on our short stay, but at least we had somewhere nice to stay.

Pros: Secluded rural location with a magnificent view of green countryside and the hills beyond. The property was only built recently, and everything felt like new. Well-equipped and plenty of room for two people.
