Pros: Great location for what we wanted, and all facilities we needed. Easy to get to the start of Scafell Pike hike, and convenient to a good pub at Nether Wasdale, and visit other places.

Cons: The owner had kindly provided what3words location in the direction information which turned out to be essential and made it easy to find. The postcode doesn’t take you to the property.

Hidden Gem

Pros: Incredible location right on the doorstep of scafell. A fab quaint little place to come back to after a day of hiking…far superior to camping which was equal in price when we booked! A real gem.

Cons: The only issue we had was some of the linen being stained.

Pros: But the keybox did jam at one point in the holiday. Luckily there were neighbours who were able to get us into the property and unjam the box.

Quaint cottage with beautiful views

Pros: AMAZING and idyllic location. Wasdale lake is just a km away from the cottage which was a pleasant surprise! Lots of hiking routes near the cottage and an ideal location for mountain climbing or water activities. Very warm and homely feel, mostly clean and tidy, fluffy pillows and the beds were super comfy.

Cons: Hot water seemed to run out in the morning which meant I had to have a cold shower! Though the cottage was clean and tidy throughout, the cleanliness of the toilet could have been better. The master bedroom was very small and there was little room on either side of the bed. The bedroom door also opens awkwardly against the bed which is not ideal as a tall person as your feet can hit the door whilst laying down to sleep. The location is very popular with visitors and the roads can get quite busy. Cars can be heard at night which can be disturbing if you're a light sleeper. The road just outside the gate leading to the cottage is a main road so extra care is needed when crossing over to the car park. Akin to other reviews, the cottage is tricky to find, however the owner did provide some information on getting to the cottage which was very useful.
