Blissful comfort in a scenic Cumbrian village

Pros: The cottage is beautiful The kitchen was fully equipped and we loved sitting round the island grazing and having a wine The log burner in the lounge made it really snug The beds are so comfy and the en suite bathrooms were a wonderful addition Location wise it’s so close the M6 but right in the heart of a rural village. We were close to the lakes and Carlisle. It was perfect for our visit. We would definitely return

Cons: The only slight improvement would be a larger comfier couch in the lounge, as the three of us (husband, wife and child) couldn’t fit on it all together to watch a movie, but otherwise everything was perfect!

Loved our stay.

Pros: Such a cozy cottage to stay in. Great location for Ullswater, Derwentwater, Keswick and Penrith. When the weather was bad, we could chill out with a relaxing home cooked meal. I loved the fluffy towels and the main bed was so comfortable. I loved the Nest heating thermostat.

Cons: The only suggestion for improvement would be to have some basic kitchen items e.g. cooking oil, sugar, instant coffee, disposable, washing up cloth, oven glove, kitchen spray. Also perhaps a mirror in each bedroom?

Perfect place to stay for easy access to Lakes

Pros: Beautiful cottage full of character in a lovely quiet village close to Penrith and the wonders of the Lake District. Clean and tastefully furnished.

Cons: Just needs some instructions for the hob. A hook or towel rail in downstairs ensuite would be useful.

Idyllic, cosy, spacious and modern. A perfect home away from home in the quaintist little village.

Pros: The property was stunning - so spacious, modern and well presented. I loved the wooden beams and the stone staircase, plus the barn doors were a gorgeous touch. It felt like home.

Cons: We would have loved use of a washing machine, but it wasn’t a deal breaker. There were lots of flies by the end of our trip, and we didn’t have the door open much, but it may be to do with the surroundings.

Peaceful rural escape!

Pros: The most beautiful cottage for a truly peaceful stay! We used it as a base to explore the area and climb Scafell Pike and it was a pleasure to come home to after long days out. Stock up in town on your way in to get supplies as there isn’t much around once you check in. Decor, amentities and comfort all amazing! High end restaurant next door - need to book in advance to enjoy.

Cons: - handsoap missing - surface cleaner and cloth missing

Great for a weekend

Pros: Lovely location, easy to find with good parking places. Beautiful decorated and maintained. Great to have a secure garden to let the dogs out in. Bedrooms were super comfortable. Nice to have information about what to do around the area and the basket with treats in were a great touch. Had more things than we expected like hair straighteners. We had a great stay

Cons: Tiny little things - nothing to light the fire with unless you had a lighter and no kindling to help keep it lit. Thought the dog fee was slightly steep Couldn’t get the lights to work in the downstairs bedroom or bathroom, just used the lamps instead Towels were quite small Settee wasn’t comfortable
