The Dumfries Arms is a genuinely great place to stay, I would recommend to anyone.

Pros: The Dumfries Arms Hotel offers friendly, smiling, and efficient staff who make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The food is consistently good, well prepared, and well presented. The rooms are comfortable, spotless, and clearly well cared for, making it an easy place to relax and enjoy your stay.

Cons: In the part of the hotel where I stayed, there was no lift, and the stairs were quite a climb. This didn’t put me off re‑booking, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re booking for someone with a disability, older guests, families with prams, or anyone travelling with heavy luggage. I’m sure the staff would happily help, they’re fantastic, but it’s still worth considering in advance.

Pros: The staff were really helpful and the hotel was very comfotable. My wife loved the cocktails. The staff could not have done more when i became ill - thankyou so much.

Pros: It was lovely with friendly bikes. The breakfadt was good & the staff very helpful. It is in good location being in walking distance to tue centre of the town but not noisy.

Pros: Beautiful hotel , room was lovely, very comfortable. Had a lovely evening meal and breakfast. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Cons: Did not like adjoining doors in rooms. I could hear the person in the next room clear as day.

Lovely hotel where staff are on another level .

Pros: Breakfast was fantastic l think in part because food was local produce . Staff are so friendly and attentive without being overbearing.

Enjoyed my stay and will definitely return.

Pros: This was my second stay at the Dumfries Arms Hotel.The room was lovely and spacious ,quiet and comfortable.Very clean and furnished to a high standard. Thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast each morning with a great choice of options and also dined in for an evening meal in the restaurant. The food was delicious and the hotel staff all friendly and helpful.Wouldnt stay anywhere else in Cumnock.

Cons: My room was on the second floor , which was a bit of a climb with heavy luggage.The stairs are very steep so not ideal if you struggle with mobility. When I asked about the lift was informed it didn't go to the second floor !
