fit for purpose

Pros: Efficient friendly service - chips are amazing, best ever. Food was exceptional at dinner, breakfast was enough to set you up for the day on the fells.

Cons: the floor in the bedroom looked like it had not been vacuumed. Meant to mention it, but forgot, so it obviously was no bother.

Amazing

Pros: The staff were so welcoming and friendly, tea and breakfast were amazing! The room itself had the basics and that’s all we needed just somewhere to sleep! I would definitely return and cannot wait to see how they do the pub across the road. Thankyou!!

Cons: The walls were quiet thin and could hear conversations in next rooms but it wasn’t that big of a deal

Great stay, fantastic food staff and ales

Pros: Great location for walking the Wasdale side. Staff were excellent. Brewery ales was outstanding

Cons: Nothing really. Some might find it dated but I liked the old world feel.

Simple room for a night

Pros: The area is lovely, we were able to walk around and enjoy the lake nearby and next day it was a short drive to start Scafell Pike hike.

Cons: It was a bit cold in the room. The carpet in the room was a bit dirty which didn’t really give a cozy feeling to the room. Breakfast was good. In the evening it was very loud because there was quiz night in the pub downstairs.

Pros: breakfast was amazing. i had a fantastic dinner in pub . The food was very tasty and fresh, the portions were big, that could not quite finish my plate
