All 4 of us loved this hotel and would love to come back.

Pros: We were a party of 4 sharing 2 mews cottages. The cottages were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had everything we needed. Coffee & tea facilities, bottled water, biscuits. Flat screen tvs, WiFi, plenty of sockets for charging phones etc. Shower room was modern and spotless with walk in shower and toiletries provided. The main building is beautiful with huge fireplaces, beautiful wood panels and carvings. Each public room was beautiful. You could not fault the breakfast. There was everything you could ever want in the cold buffet and an excellent choice of hot dishes which were served by the waiting staff who were all friendly and helpful. In fact the entire staff were helpful, efficient, polite and friendly. I honestly don’t think I have stayed in a nicer and better run hotel.

Pros: Third visit and again a fabulous stay. The food here is really exceptional. The staff in the restaurant are brilliant, being friendly and attentive but never overbearing. Seafood dishes are a highlight. Mews rooms were cosy and quiet but they are different sizes, we had a much smaller room compared with our last trip and the bed (though VERY big and comfy) was squeezed in to extent you have to shimmy down one side and the other side has no room for a bedside table. Breakfast selection is very good indeed and all quality produce. Hotel is spotless and well maintained. Be aware there is construction on site (new annex) but we had no noise or disturbance of our visit.

Cons: The staff in the bar are off the pace. When you come into the bar area they kind of ignore you and don't seem in a hurry to come over and serve you which is at odds with the staff in restaurant, reception, and at breakfast who are all excellent. It's been like that on all our visits. You have to beg for attention. Wasn't just us, we noted lots of people getting frustrated waiting to get a drinks order taken. That's why its a 9 and not a 10 out of 10.

Pros: 5 Stars all round. Outstanding location. Lovely room. Nice and chilled hotel. Bar and restaurant were perfect. Special mention to Christine at reception who went above and beyond, with early check in and taxis etc. Also thanks to the Bar Staff for the late night refreshments and chat.
