Great place to stay

Pros: The room was fantastic with amazing views over the mountsins

Cons: There was an issue with the hot water when we needed a shower. It was sorted out in the evening when we told the staff but was cold again in the morning. The staff were very helpful.

Overall a pleasant stay, just a pity about the boiler running out of kerosene!

Pros: Location and scenery, quietness and staff friendly.

Cons: Change of evening menu from our last stay in July. Menu was a bit restricted. Constant noise audible from our room. Not if it was a pump of some sort but a bit intrusive.

Fantastic place.

Pros: The location is fantastic, a little village surrounded by nature. Staff was very nice, food was good, especially breakfast. Room was very cosy with a nice view.

Cons: There was no internet in our room at all or a signal. It wasn't a problem for us but if someone needs it, be aware.

Great stay

Pros: Great rooms, wonderful bath, lovely fire in the the pub and the lounge, great staff

Cons: Evening meal was good, but a bit too fancy (and a bit too expensive). We really wanted a good hearty dinner and not haute-cuisine after a day walking on the fells. Would be better to include some of the options that were on the lunch menu in the evening.

Absolutely stunnng views and lovely, cosy rooms with power shower! Katie is a wonderful hostess and works so hard to mak

Pros: We arrived the first day of reopening so obviously parts of the bar restaurant were still getting refurbished! Not a problem to us, looking forward returning and seeing the place in full bloom. Staff were super friendly, especially Katie who literally ran the place for the whole time we were there. I think you need more staff as we waiting over an hour for our evening meal and breakfast! The meal was nice but not worth £34 (steak) cooked well but nothing special. Location is 10/10 - the walks nearby are a must and the pub offers recommendations and books on suitable walks. Overall, we would definitely stay again but not sure we would eat here!

Cons: Waiting far too long for breakfast and our evening meal. Overpriced compared to other pubs in the lakes.
