Gatesgarth Cottage @ The Pheasant Inn

A comfortable stay in a well-equipped cottage in an attractive village

Pros: Well equipped kitchen and property in an attractive village and next door to the pub.

Pros: Really nice We only had 2 nights but definitely lovely place

Great little jewel of a stay over

Pros: Didn't have breakfast but the evening meal was very good, location is great and a very cosy pub the accommodation was also nice and warm

Cons: We would have preferred the lounge downstairs

Pros: In the middle of the most beautiful countryside in a well equipped, clean and comfortable cottage, with some beautiful original features. Everyone we met was so friendly and welcoming and the food in the pub was exceptional. So easy to access the lakes as well as other surrounding villages into Northumberland. Super location. Really good communication from the owners too.

Cosy comfortable character cottage

Pros: So cosy, beautifully decorated and attention to detail. Super comfy bed. Loved the extra touches like tea and biscuits provided. The pub attached wasn’t open so could try it but looked nice, old and traditional. Fabulous views over countryside.

Cons: The en-suite toilet seat was loose and lid didn’t stay up, shower didn’t have great power. Pub garden tables right outside the cottage may be noisy in warmer months when pub open?

Pros: Location, ease of booking and communication, attached to a wonderful vibrant and cosy pub with great food.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Beautiful cottage, photos don’t do it justice. Pub next door has the best burgers we’ve ever tried. Will definitely return.

A very relaxing and comfortable stay in a beautiful village.

Pros: We were next door to the Pheasant Inn which is only open for 4 nights. On our last night we had an amazing meal there followed by a short theatre production in the upstairs room and we left after chatting to the locals. We were made to feel very at home.

Cons: There was nothing we didn't like about our stay at Gatesgarth Cottage.

Great place to stay

Pros: The communication from Peter was great The accomodation was lovely and warm enough, sometimes cottages can be cold but not here Location is great as a base to many places and attractions

Super property and excellent pub

Pros: Super place to stay. Everything you need in a lovely set up. The attached pub is excellent
