A quiet couple of days in a quiet rural setting. Useful as a base to explore the coast.

Pros: Lovely location. Tower house with surrounding grounds including a sunken garden. Easy walk to the river. Tobias was helpful and knowledgable about the area.

Cons: Public transport generally is not great. Limited non-meat options on the breakfast menu, but easily accommodated by arrangement.

Amazing experience in a historic setting. Felt like an honoured guest who had travelled back in time.

Pros: Historical and unique opportunity - stepping back in time.

Short stop over but a good experience.

Pros: Location and historic atmosphere. Although mid winter we could appreciate the structure of the gardens/grounds. Great location for wildlife.

Cons: This is an interesting place with history and atmosphere, not a city slicker marble and glass place. Suited us, but maybe not all.

One for history lovers

Pros: Our host, Tobias, was efficient friendly and charming. We dined in the Great Hall with excellent food and interesting surroundings. and were also given the opportunity to see the incredible renovated chapel.and hear about the castles history. Our room was clean and comfortable with no TV (so relaxing) but a nice seating area and WiFi.. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Loved it & will certainly return during summer/autumn

Pros: Steeped in history, host very hospitable & informative. Quite an unusual opportunity to stay in such a historical place. Food was excellent.

Cons: Sadly lacking a bar & lounge area. Room was authentic, lots of outside seating in the grounds, would benefit a small lounge area.

Pros: The breakfast was delicious with locally sourced products

Cons: We added one dinner to our stay and the dinner was delicious but the room it was served in was very cold
