Refined luxury in stunning location

Pros: Fantastic location for lots of different walks around Ullswater and up towards Helvellyn. Staff very professional, efficient and friendly. Wonderful dining rooms with different ambiances. Room was very comfortable with modern bathroom.

Cons: Being woken up by window cleaner at 08:30am!

Great Hotel - Great locations away from it all.

Pros: The Hotel looked great - it is in an amazing locations - we went for walks looking at the frozen waterfalls. The hotel is surrounded by an amazing landscape. The room was spacious and comfortable - the bed gave a good night of sleep. The check in went smoothly and all of the staff were very efficient and friendly. It has lovely and relaxing lounge and bar area and the website photos are just like the real thing. We really enjoyed our stay. We loved the little village near to the hotel.

Cons: We didn't like the fact that we only booked for one night and had to leave - we enjoyed that much.

Excellent location, friendly staff and warm welcome

Pros: Gorgeous location, comfy clean rooms and public spaces. Excellent staff and the Christmas decorations were lovely, dinner was lovely although could do to be served quicker to keep it hot.

Cons: The breakfast was poor. Hard sausages or no sausages cold eggs Benedict, overcooked smoked haddock. Our second night there was a boiler issue so no heating or hot water in the evening meaning we couldn’t shower for dinner. I appreciate this was a one off but disappointing. The staff did notify the guests at 6.40pm by phoning each guest. Personal attention and apologies were given and we appreciate these things are usually a one off.

Pros: Breakfast was really nice as was dinner. Staff were friendly and room and hotel was clean. The only one negative thing I would say is that it would have been nice to know in advance that Ramblers Bar was shut as we had planned our night around watching the football there prior to dinner and there was nowhere else in Glenridding to watch it.
