Criffel Cottage

Pros: The Criffel Cottage was home to us and our 2 sons for a week in Juli. The house is in a beautiful, quiet residential neighborhood, it is very spacious, has a well equipped kitchen and the garden is lovely for a barbecue. Our host Janice was super helpful, and her suggestions for excursions provided unforgettably memories.

Comfortable, well equipped, in a pleasant quiet neighbourhood not far from Dumfries centre.

Pros: The house was very well equipped, met all our requirements in a party of four with some to spare. The instructions were clear and information was comprehensive both about the house and the area. The house is in a quiet residential area. The garden is spacious and sheltered with nice seating when the sun shines. The electric car hook up was a bonus and the charges very reasonable. Parking easy for two cars at the front and if required one at the back.

Cons: Nothing springs to mind.

Home from home

Pros: Lovely home from home, very well kitted out, nice private garden, with garden furniture to enjoy it. Good space and toys for children. A bedroom and bathroom downstairs plus bathroom and bedrooms upstairs worked really well for our family. Great communication from host. Would visit Dumfries and stay here again.

Great place to stay for a week in the heart of Dumfries.

Cons: Nothing to do with accomodation, but taxi services in dumfries are very limited if your a none driver such as myself,

Pros: We walked in and were impressed by the size of the place and the cleanliness. Absolutely wonderful! The property location was very quiet and the bedrooms nice and dark for sleeping. Very comfy king bed in the master bedroom with good lighting for reading, plus 2 other spacious bedrooms. The lounge had 2 sofas and a well equipped separate toy/game room. The dining room was spacious and nicely decorated, and the kitchen well equipped. There are appliance instructions and information about tourist sites. The owner is friendly, helpful and responsive if you ask questions. Hard to find anything wrong with it. A clothes dryer might be useful. There are indoor racks and a clothes line for drying clothes.

A very happy time spent at Criffel Cottage

Pros: There was a wide range of additional touches that made this stay very enjoyable. Numerous games and toys for the grandchildren to use in the large garden and the games room, lots of very useful information on the area and local attractions, a washing machine (a Godsend with small children), lots of space in the house, two fully equipped bathrooms. Very clean and tidy and a real home from home feeling as soon as we walked through the door. The location is very quiet on a private road but only minutes from the centre of Dumfries.

Perfect accommodation for my colleagues - definitely recommend.

Pros: 3rd time staying here in Janice's wonderful house. It's now our 1st choice when staying in Dumfries & we really don't want to stay anywhere else! It's perfect for our needs- 3 bedrooms with very comfy beds, lots of space, 2 bathrooms, big garden, very well equipped kitchen (we love to cook!), off road parking & excellent position close to where our local relatives live. It is also super clean and well maintained. Lovely bedlinen & lots of fluffy towels! Thank you Janice for sharing your family home with the world! It has become our special 2nd home in Dumfries & we are very attached to the place! See you again soon Criffel Cottage! 🩷😍🏡😊🩷

Cons: As Booking asks if there is anything that I don't like, I really have to think hard to come up with anything at all! These are very minor, and in no way stop us from coming back: The upstairs hot water pressure isn't great. I don't like the plastic lined mattress protectors- they made me sweat. I would suggest natural fiber ones. As we love to cook, I would appreciate an extra large pot for boiling pasta or potatoes in big quantities. And please more tea-towels. 2 for the week wasn't enough. But I am really just nit-picking now! We adore the place & it's THE best tourist rental house in Dumfries! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
