Stanger Cottage

A lovely cottage in a great location for walking in the Lakes, managed by a brilliant team

Pros: The cottage is lovely. Perfectly kitted out. Plenty of space. Comfy beds. Lots of hot water. The management team were superb. Just across from the pub (very good value and not noisy) and there are at least two more restaurants in the village. You can walk from the door and are close to Keswick and loads of great treks.

Cons: The cottage is on the road so you hear the first bus and the bin men in the morning, but as we hiked every day it was not an issue for us. Whilst all the important bits of the cottage were clean there were some cobwebs and the skirting boards were dirty.

Relaxing

Pros: Very clean on arrival, had everything you needed in the kitchen for cooking & eating in Amazing views of the hills Lots of local little walks

Cons: Parking was ridiculous, when we arrived back sat afternoon we was just driving up and down the street waiting for someone to go out. The house next door had a van with a trailer and also put cones out to leave him plenty of room so he was using up 4/5 spaces

Perfect cottage in a perfect location, what more could you need!

Pros: Beautiful cottage in the heart of Braithwaite. We wanted to be central so that we could catch up with family, and this cottage was perfect being a stones throw from the pub :-) We had welcome packs for cleaning (bin bag, dishwasher tablets, washing liquid etc) and essentials such as milk, sugar, tea, coffee, biscuits etc which are so welcome when you first put your bags down. The house had everything we needed for our stay and more, communication was perfect with the hosts too - I would 100% recommend this cottage.
