2 Calgow Cottages

A fantastic cottage. We will be back!!

Pros: I would say that this is the best cottage I have ever booked and stayed at. So warm and homely. I wish all were as nice as this. The facilities were spot on, rooms comfortable, bathrooms/showers lovely to use and warm sofas in the lounge comfortable, log fire easy to use and made the room even cosier and outdoor facilities brilliant too. Location was eally very quiet too wih enough facilities in nearby Newton Stewart.

Cons: The one and only thing which was relatively minor is being able to unlock the frront door takes a little mastery of the technique. That was it

Lovely cottage

Pros: Great communication. Lovely cottage with everything you need and more. Would love to go in summer to try out the gin shed x

Lovely comfortable stay in a beautiful part of Scotland

Pros: Clean, comfortable, large enclosed garden and little things like tin foil, cling film, kitchen roll etc were a real help.

Very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Pros: It had plenty room for a family of 4. Good bathroom facilities though downstairs bedroom had to go upstairs. Comfy beds. Quiet location. Enclosed garden good for dog and older children. Good Wi-Fi. Summer house was a nice addition for outdoor sitting. Smart TV a bonus.

Cons: Nothing.

Beautiful place

Pros: The cottage was easy to find. On entering and looking around, we loved it straight away. The house is tastefully furnished and instantly relaxing. The beds are comfy and the showers are good. The garden is lovely and importantly for us with 2 dogs, secure. We made use of the bench at the top as it was a good sun trap in the evening for a book and a cuppa. The area is very quiet and peaceful, we were lucky to see some good skies late at night. The neighbours were lovely and gave us tips on places to go. We walked into Newton stewart one morning and had lunch at Brigend Pantry which was first class and dog friendly, although most places are in the area. Note to dog owners, downstairs is open plan so we crated our younger dog at overnight. We could have done with a few more days in this lovely chilled cottage.

Calgow cottage

Pros: Everything was clean, tastefully decorated and everything you could possibly need.

Cons: Having to leave.

Great house! Would recommend

Pros: Perfect little getaway for Christmas Very clean, great quick responses from hosts, beds comfy, lovely large house, hosts left a gift of wine, chocolate and a Christmas card. We will look forward to booking again

Cons: Only a slight dislike was the water temperature in bathrooms, showers and bath aren’t very hot and the heating is on a timer so when it came on the house was very warm when it didn’t need to be but it didn’t spoil our stay!

Amazing place, great facilities, can’t wait to visit again

Pros: Love it’s location and the size, can’t wait to come back in the summer… backs on to woodland, lots of wildlife … summerhouse, perfect for spring & autumn, love the log burner, lots of space for bicycles, electric vehicle charging available

Cons: Cutlery is a bit poor quality as it bends easily, no tv in lower bedroom but we managed ok

From the moment we arrived to that of leaving we felt comfortable. We love the area.

Pros: A very clean and comfortable cottage. Facilities were first rate and reflected the owners efforts to provide all that was needed. We very much enjoy the local attractions like the outdoor centre at Kirroughtrees. The dog loved it.

Cons: Pleased to say nothing.

Bliss, quiet and got to chill out but close enough to do things with the kids x

Pros: Second stay this year and just like the first time excellent break with the family. Little welcome with milk etc for us arriving, spotless as always and had the best week. Definitely my fav little cottage to get away from life and have that home from home feeling x
