Excellent cottage in Lakes

Pros: Loved the space, the comfort, the kitchen area. The enclosed garden for the dogs. Decor. Excellent area, great pub opposite with outstanding food.

Cons: No complaints, though my wife and daughter said not enough mirrors! I thought as sleeps 10 maybe 2 keys would be useful.

Amazing stay in a idyllic village.

Pros: Lovely large house for a large family gathering. Enough chairs around the table for all of us. Enclosed garden which is ideal for pets. Very clean and comfortable house. Ideal village, house is located opposite the cafe and pub. Small village shop and place to get fresh milk and milkshakes. About a 30 mins drive to Keswick. Really enjoyed out stay! Would definitely reccomend!

Cons: Couldn't put the rubbish in the dustbins due to them being full, understand this isn't the hosts fault.

Excellent location to meet family

Pros: The village had everything we needed. Pub ,deli cafe,shop,walks. Property was ideal for a large group/family.

Cons: Parking was a little awkward. Managed to get two cars to the side if no space in front.

Pros: Beautiful house set in the heart of a beautiful village with walks, pub and cafes on your doorstep

Pros: Wonderful property full of character. Situated in the beautiful village of Caldbeck, the property is situated in a great location to explore the northern lakes.

Cons: All superb!

Grand stay at the Gatehouse

Pros: This is a lovely characterful house, initially it looks a little foreboding and cold from outside but don't be fooled, when you walk in it's a lovely property. Due to the time of year it was pretty cool out and we had a lovely pleasant surprise when we walked into the kitchen diner with the heating being generated by the Aga. Lovely rooms all through the house, and a great space to share with friends and family. The Oddfellows Arms is literally across the road and a great place to eat and drink.

Cons: Nothing really. The bedroom configuration wasn't perfect for us due to the people we had in the group but we managed ok

Great cottage in a great location

Pros: Location was fabulous, beautiful village in the countryside. Village had a shop, cafe and a pub plus beautiful walks all around. Cottage was spacious, lovely big rooms, great kitchen with an AGA, beautiful stone floors downstairs, parking.

Cons: My only very minor issue was the flies, there were a lot of them which was a bit annoying indoors but as I say a very minor issue. No other problems whatsoever.

Don't miss out on this wonderful spot!

Pros: Beautiful stay in a well appointed, comfortable and incredibly spacious home Large dining kitchen with all that we needed at hand. Comfortable beds, large en suite rooms with storage, nice big bath! 2 sitting rooms with a selection of games and books (great for families) Enclosed gardens and lovely walks nearby. Great spot to explore the lakes, Carlisle, Cumbria hills etc. Standard staggering distance from a great pub! And a handy creamery next door for fresh farm provisions. A wonderful and relaxing stay.

Cons: Leaving!

A lovely weekend in the lakes

Pros: Beautiful house and excellent location in a lovely, well-situated village with charming local amenities. Comfortable rooms with lots of space and character.

Cons: Unfortunately a strong smell from the nearby cowsheds but largely bad luck as I think they were being cleaned out the weekend we were there. As a result also a lot of flies in the kitchen. We could have done with a bit more loo roll provided also as a large group.
