The Royal Hotel

Absolutely perfect.

Pros: We arrived later than check in times, thinking we could arrive anytime as there was a ‘not sure’ option. We didn’t realise that the last check in was at 8pm. The owner, who was abroad at the time, still answered our call and organised for someone to come and let us into the property. David arrived within five minutes and could not have been nicer and more helpful. I honestly don’t know what we would have done if they hadn’t gone out of their way to help us. The room was big, beautifully decorated and very clean. The beds were made perfectly and very comfy. Thank you so much to both of you for going out of your way to help us. We had travelled for nearly four hours after a full days work, and were exhausted. I would highly recommend this hotel and will be back if work takes us to a close by area in the future.

Cons: I genuinely have no negative comments here. Private parking would have been beneficial for us but free on street parking was available so didn’t cause any issues.

Excellent value and very warm, welcoming staff

Pros: Very welcoming. Lovely large room and bathroom which looked like newly decorated. Right in centre of Stranraer and plenty of free parking close by. Let me know I left my AirPods in the room when I left and kept them safe until a relative could collect- went above and beyond.

A great over night stay

Pros: We had a great room which was clean and comfortable. Our ferry was delayed and this was a great and convenient place to stay. The staff were very friendly too. Great town centre location

Pros: Lovely hotel with very attentive and helpful owner and staff. We were made feel very welcome and nothing was too much to ask. We highly recommend this hotel for your stay.

Excellent value for mo ey - suited us well for a one night stay before an early morning ferry.

Pros: Great value for money - noisy party in the bar which could NOT be heard in our room. Excellent.

Pros: Lovely hotel, staff so welcoming, spotless and food was delicious 😋. Right in the town and a minutes walk to the beach front. Great pubs round about the Royal. Been 4 times will definitely be back.

Pros: The whole place was spotless! Great location to town centre. Side note: the stairs are challenging.

Cons: If I were to high light anything and I am only clutching at straws, noise through the day was loud.

Pros: Very good rooms, seems to have been recently refurbished. Staff provided a safe place to park my motorbike overnight. Friendly staff.

Cons: No breakfast.
