The Calder House Hotel

It was nice and relaxing unfortunately we had storm Amy with us which was unfortunate but didn’t spoil our stay

Pros: The room was cosy the bar and communal area was cosy the staff were very helpful especially Chloe couldn’t do enough for you

Pros: Pet friendliness wa A1. We had our dog with us and it was no trouble whatsoever. Breakfast was great, dinner was also great, the room was spacious, clean and just what we needed.

Friendly staff, great hotel in a lovely part of Cumbria

Pros: The owner and staff were super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The location was perfect

Pros: The side window veiw to the sea, staff very friendly helpful, food amazing. Sea location. Great location for pets.

Cons: Noise of a washing machine or generator stopping starting through the night. Mattress is uncomfortable.

Pros: Excellent location , so close to beach , staff very kind polite, friendly, & could Not wish for more kindness to our dog and other dogs .

Pros: The hotel has many features from the original. The staff were fantastic, super nice and friendly. Views were worth paying for just by themselves (sea view room)

Cons: There wasn't anything to dislike.

Pros: Location was very good for walking. The food was very good breakfast excellent. All value for money

Cons: Unfortunately we had the rain on the second day while stopping but the bar was open so a bonus

Great little getaway

Pros: The staff were lovely, the breakfast was hot, tasty and quick with lots of variety. They catered for my dairy intolerance with no fuss. However, it was spotless, no fault could be found in how clean the rooms were. The location was brilliant, only a minute or two walk at the back of the property was the seafront. What a beautiful seaside, even if it was blustery, overcast with showers. We was also very close to the castle and miniature stream train.

Cons: The rooms were in need of updating and were looking tired but that was reflected in the price.

Relaxing, peaceful and very enjoyable. Can’t wait to go back.

Pros: It was clean and comfortable. Located in a beautiful part of the country. An old building with lots of character and original features, decorated sympathetically but modern as well.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Excellent breakfast, lots of choice. Room was just what we wanted - maybe a chair to look out of the window and see the stunning view. Beds were so comfortable and no noise! Loved the beer garden and small walk to the beach. The decor in the newly renovated part, bar and dining area was beautiful. Love the wall paper. Overall a pleasant stay in a very interesting Georgian House. Owners where fabulous.

Cons: My own opinion is that it wouldn't harm to look behind doors and movable furniture to see if it needs cleaning. Windows in some of the property could have been cleaner, however when by the sea and windy days I'm sure you are very rarely on top of it. Can't fault really.
