Lovely welcome, great food. Would come back to play golf and visit the local countryside

Pros: Very good location on the seafront. Definitely had the owners stamp on the guest house. Mid winter had only just reopened but the owner ensured I was able to have a small choice of lovely home cooked food and a decent breakfast

Cons: Was a little cold in the room but I’d only booked that afternoon. Shower not particularly strong but this was noted in the bathroom

Pros: Graham was an excellent host and made us feel very welcome after a long day on the bike! Even though we were slightly late for the kitchen, he very happily accommodated us. Food was excellent! Thank you very much for making our stay comfortable and easy 👍

A lovely comfortable stay on a scorching Bank Holiday weekend.

Pros: Location was absolutely perfect for our trip. Graeme was informative and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was also perfect. The guest house was decorated to a very high standard and had lots of interesting things to look at and read. Cleanliness of the guest house, our room and en-suite was also to a very high standard.

Cons: Nothing at all.

Lovely stay with a great host

Pros: What a cracking guest house, the room was very comfortable and Graeme an excellent host. The location is perfect as it's right by the Green and only a minute or two from the Promenade. I would definitely recommend staying here - do make sure you read any emails from the property once you've booked.

Cons: There wasn't anything (other than the darn weather) that I could complain about

If I ever stay in the Carlisle area on business I will always do the extra few miles to stay here. Graham is a fine host

Pros: Very comfortable and friendly. Amazing food and scenary.

Pros: Excellent facilities, including a secure storage area for bicycles. Exceptional food. Very comfortable room. Would definitely stay there again, should we be passing through Silloth.

Pros: Brief one night stay for a short gold trip. Dinner and breakfast were very good.

A must stay if you visit the area and if you can’t stay book the Bistro

Pros: Graham was a brilliant host and very knowledgeable about the history of the area. The Bistro meal was excellent prepared by Archie I was travelling solo on my bike but will be returning with my good lady to enjoy the craic and Archie’s great food

Really pleasant and charming hotel and fantastic staff who couldn’t do more to help.

Pros: Clean and tidy room. Shared areas of the hotel had some lovely decorations and art deco pieces - just enough to set a style while not being overbearing. Also lots of period pieces such as historical maps and Victorian tourism posters. The owners are clearly proud of their hotel, town and the history. Breakfast was first class too. Highlight for me was the chat with Graeme at breakfast where if you didn’t know he was a hotelier you’d think he was a historian. Fascinating to learn more about the area ranging from Roman times to the WWII links to the nearby airbase. Could have chatted all day!

Very comfortable guest house in interesting small seaside town

Pros: Excellent breakfast. Great location in small coastal town with interesting history. Very interesting decor throughout. Extremely comfortable room with good wifi and tea/coffee making facilities

Cons: Dining room was booked out for evening meal, but host was helpful in suggesting alternatives.
