Fantastic cosy stay in a nice country cottage!

Pros: Great location and a lovely comfortable cottage. Easy check in and a great space.

Cons: Parking wasn’t the easiest, through no fault of the hosts.

A really lovely 3 days. I couldn’t find anything bad to say about the property.

Pros: We loved how cosy the cottage was. We had some lovely walks in the surrounding area and tried the lovely Italian in the Village. We took our two dogs and it was perfect for them too We will definitly go back

A very relaxing and enjoyable break away in the English countryside. For a couple of Australians visiting the UK, we ver

Pros: Fireplace was a great asset and made our stay so much more worthwhile. Washing machine/dryer was a bonus. Kitchen was well set out and had everything we needed. Place was clean and tidy and very functional.

Cons: Unfortunately the ceiling above the shower was a bit low and made showering a little challenging. Lounge chair was a bit low and difficult to get in and out of. We found the air freshener in the main lounge area a little irritating to our senses.

Lovely place to stay for a few nights on a work trip.

Pros: This was a lovely place to stay with all I needed for 4 nights away with work. Everything is on one level - there is a large fridge, good seating in the lounge and a comfortable bed. Getting in and out of the property was very straightforward. The parking is not right outside but is not far down the road (30 yards) and easy to get to and from and there was always space. The location is excellent for getting to the coast or into Wasdale Valley and there is a good selection of places to eat not too far away. There are also walks from the door and a co-op in Seascale along with an excellent ice cream shop!

Cons: There was a faint smell of damp in the cottage that was noticeable to me even after the windows had been open. You can hear road noise in the cottage. The neighbours dog is the friendliest dog ever and I was happy to have him welcoming me back... Although others might not be so happy to have a jumping dog greeting them. It also might be an issue if guests had their own dog who perhaps wasn't dog friendly as to get to the garden for the cottage you had to pass through an area shared with the neighbour.

Relaxing and comfortable stay in a beautifully decorated cottage which is in a lovely semi rural

Pros: Annie’s Cottage had been decorated with love and is warm and cosy and feels like ‘home’ It was a great location for me. Close to where I was working and also close to local walks and other beautiful scenery. The bed was super comfortable and there was both a shower (which worked well) and also a bath. Having both was definitely a bonus. Sheila was very responsive when I needed pointing towards the iron😊 Check-in and out was easy. Very little to dislike: The shared entrance path means that any visitor is ‘at the mercy’ of Atticus, the next door neighbour’s labrador. I love dogs and didn’t mind him jumping up, luckily it was sunny dry weather and so there were no muddy paws. Some folk may be less confident as he launches himself towards you to give kisses and hugs😊 The clocks had very recently changed in the UK when I stayed and the two big wall clocks (kitchen and lounge) just need their times updated.

Fantastic, surreal, a warm felt stay! The owners have done a fantastic job and it’s so lovely to see it still as loved a

Pros: We used to stay in this cottage as kids when Annie used to own it. We had so many summer holidays in Cumbria staying in this cottage. So after 20 years later I seen it on booking.com and immediately had to book a weekend stay. It had changed a lot but still felt like home! It was amazing to go back and relive our memories

Quaint, Comfortable, Clean, Modern

Pros: A quaint, comfortable cottage with all the mod cons, extremely clean and well presented, close to shops, bakery, dog friendly pubs and a lovely Italian restaurant/takeaway. Great location very close to all the great walks the Lakes have to offer.
