Pros: Location and setting superb. A beautiful property that was warm, immaculately clean and had all requisites for a short stay.

A perfect location for a tranquil escape

Pros: Spent a wonderful 4 days here, a perfect tranquil retreat in a very luxurious cottage. The owners have ensured that all the little things are perfect - ample supply of logs for the fire, toiletries in the bathrooms, well appointed kitchen - we wanted for nothing. The cottage is lovely and warm (it was only 3 degrees outside when we arrived), lots of room and very comfortable. totally dog friendly, the river walk which begins outside the cottage is perfect exercise for a pre-breakfast ramble. Ideally located for Ayr, Troon, the Ayrshire coast as well as lots of castles and waterfalls.

Pros: We hired several of the cottages for a multi-generational family celebration. Everyone young and old loved it. The cottages were spacious and comfortable. The under floor hearing was a delight. The grounds were lovely to walk around and it was so peaceful. Using the fire pit for roasting marshmallows was a great treat. I couldn't recommend staying here more. Everyone is keen to go back.

Beautiful setting, in a very quiet location.

Pros: The cottages here are in an idyllic setting, they are very quiet and peaceful. The cottage we had was good, cosy and warm.

Cons: All the trip went okay.

Pros: The location was fabulous, lovely cottage tucked away in the castle grounds. It had everything we needed for a warm and comfortable stay. Nice to be able to walk freely in the grounds. Very comfortable bed, lovely bed linen and towels. Very effective heating.

Cons: The furnishings were a little tired and not all the window blinds worked properly. The hook for curtain tie backs in bedroom fell out of the wall.

Pros: Location was fantastic, hidden away in the country. Lived in Ayrshire for 30+ years of my life and never knew the estate existed

Autumn break in Ayrshire

Pros: Beautiful location - woodland, lakes and gardens. Peaceful and relaxing.

Cons: Cleanliness could be improved- cobwebs and dusty corners.

A wonderful location

Pros: This is a superb location if you are looking for a secret, rural getaway. We loved the walks by the river, and through the woods. The open fire in the lounge with wood and kindling provided was a super touch. The beds were very comfortable and the whole ambience relaxing. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to cook properly in there.

Cons: The bins hadn't been emptied before we arrived. Just a minor point and wouldn't put us off from coming again. One of the electricity sockets in the lounge crackled alarmingly when I plugged in the computer. I reported this and hopefully that will be dealt with. (The other sockets were all fine). The key to the front door was difficult to get out the lock. More irritating than anything as we didn't want to force it and break it.
