Enjoyable stay, would recommend

Pros: Read previous mixed reviews, yes the decor was a little tired looking but it is an old pub well used by walkers with their dogs. We found the room clean, bed comfortable with a good sized ensuite bathroom. Plenty of tea and coffee provided. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had a good breakfast at a small extra charge. We would stay there again

Brilliant central situation, warm comfortable room.

Pros: Location excellent. Room very comfortable and warm with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. It was a bit disconcerting to come down at 8.00 am next morning find the place dark and deserted. Nonetheless the front door did open easily. It might be worth warning visitors about this.

Cons: See above. Also I didn’t very much like coming in the back at about 10.00 pm but it was well signed and the door open easily without needing a code so all was well. It felt a bit deserted. I would also have liked a noon check in, though the terms were very clear and my room was ready before the stated time.

Pros: Staff are brilliant very friendly and helpful nothing to much trouble . Food was excellent as always never had a bad meal we also eat here when we stay elsewhere in Keswick will be staying again

Pros: Lovely old pub in the middle of Keswick - last minute booking - was very reasonable price and staff were friendly and helpful on check in and during stay.
