A very comfortable stay in a great location. Food was amazing.

Pros: Perfect location for our walks in the area and the room and bed were very comfortable. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and helpful, and the food in the restaurant was amazing.

Cons: The room we booked was described as having a mountain view, but it was more of the road and the car park.

A lovely night in a wonderful location, we will be back!

Pros: Everything. A cosy comfortable room with a beautiful bathroom. Very friendly staff who went above and beyond. Special mention must go to Yash our waiter for the evening meal., with his wonderfully quirky sense of humour and personality. The location is beautiful at the foot of Blencathra , close to Keswick and very handy for Castlerigg Stone Circle. Also excellent value for money. The evening meal and breakfast were also excellent and for those with large appetites!

Cons: Nothing, all excellent

Lovely, cosy pub in a perfect location, with delicious meals.

Pros: The location was perfect, we wanted to do the Threlkeld to Keswick railway walk, which we really enjoyed. The pub was cosy and served delicious food. Our room was clean and the bed was so comfy. Great breakfast in the morning.

Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like, it was just the room was really cold when we arrived. It had snowed that weekend and, as it’s an old property, the window was single paned and really draughty. The radiator wasn’t turned right up, so it took a while to get warm. The room could have benefitted from secondary glazing, if allowed, or just some really thick curtains to keep the draughts out.

Pros: The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the service was very friendly. I felt extremely welcome and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. There was a roaring fire downstairs in the dining room/bar, with a super toasty radiator in the bedroom.

Generally, very good, and an excellent meeting point for lunch and dinner with others during our stay.

Pros: The excellent location and, in general, the quality of the food.

Cons: Losing our usual table for breakfast on our final day, and ending up where those with dogs were seated!
