Really comfortable place, amazing staff, lovely property, and lots more positive etceteras!

Pros: The location is great. Although it is in a very specific part of the Lake District, the bus station is a few steps away from the hostel. I was there during an awful snow and managed to get there with little issues. I had the room to myself, but everyone I saw around the hostel was very nice and considerate. Breakfast was good, I only got the continental but seemed like more than enough (they had bread, cereals, porridge, and drinks). Staff was incredibly nice It was my first time coming to the Lake District, and staying at a hostel, and I would definitely do it again based on this experience. Thanks for everything!

Pros: Great location with well kept, clean facilities. The staff were lovely including the chef in the morning who was very pleasant and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and have since looked at other locations to visit.

Cons: The bed was a tad uncomfortable, it was well used and so it was worn creating a sort of divet where you lay.

Best budget choice for a central Lakes location.

Pros: Lovely grand old place with spacious rooms and lovely catering facilities. Games/TV room was so large and comfortable.

Cons: I never sleep great on YHA mattresses, but it’s such good value for money.

Pros: Location ambience warmth facilities comfortable and great value for money The staff were super friendly too . Great breakfast too x

Cons: The booking on is a little late ( 5pm ) fine in summer but dark in winter

Pros: Beautiful house, huge bedroom, clean bed linen, good self catering kitchen and dining space.

Cons: The basement where the dry gin room is smelt so badly of damp.

Warm, friendly , enjoyable place in a brilliant location. Great Value overall.

Pros: As with all YHA's - friendly staff; you bump into interesting folks; simple, yet good food; no fuss; great location; wonderful reading rooms and common areas; nice bar

Cons: Mattresses could have been less springy / bouncy.

Amazing location and great value for money.

Pros: Amazing location, great facilities inside the hostel such as a well-equipped kitchen and large dining area. Also nice comfortable lounges and interesting grounds for the kids.
