Lovely place good value for money good facilities

Pros: Lovely property and location. Beautiful surroundings and great place to get to scafell pike

Cons: Bed wasn’t very comfortable so wasn’t a great sleep

Pros: Super friendly atmosphere and staff. Very good value for money. Nice and clean.

Pros: Amazing location surrounded by hills and rivers. Staff is very accommodating, and facilities to be expected, like in a hostel. Cooked breakfast was a bonus

Cons: Our bunk bed was very noisy and walls are thin so you could hear people walking all the time

Pros: The property is situated at one of the best locations in Lake District. The staff was extremely accommodating, initially we booked a pod but since it was raining heavily they were helpful enough to accommodate us in a room inside the building. It is definitely a place worth staying and extremely value for money

Loved it! Beautiful, quiet space with lots to explore

Pros: Beautiful quiet space, we went mid week and seemed to just be occupied by older couples, which was really chilled compared to our previous stay in Pen-y-Pass. Drying room is amazing after a few big wet hikes! Food looks well-priced too. We brought our own but would have considered eating there had we stayed longer

Pros: What isn't there to like? Absolutely amazing setting, food decent, drinks decent, bedrooms decent. What more can you expect. Perfect. Will be back

Great location and value for money

Pros: Great location, well equipped kitchen, comfy bedding and clean bathroom/toilet facilities

Cons: Bird’s nests in the eaves are endearing, but the huge pile of bird poo on our window ledge wasn’t! Could be cleared away now the birds have fledged

Highlight of the summer

Pros: Beautiful building, shared spaces. We enjoyed the grounds very much, and the encouragement of nature. My grandson encountered two slowworms, to his great delight. Facilities - drying room! - very good, and all spacious enough to make one feel at ease. Lovely hostel - keep it! Five of us sleeping in one room was not so comfortable, but, there, we get older. Actually I was fine, and I'm the oldest.

Cons: Booking.com - or rather, not being able to negotiate the details of our needs. Once I said we were a party of 5 we were locked into an allocation of rooms. My daughter has a back problem. I would have paid for a bigger room where she could have had a separate bed. I would have liked to ask for a few extra pillows for her. Maybe there would have been an option for two rooms. But we gad a wonderful time in this lovely place. And for that we thank you.
