Group walking Blencathra

Pros: Booked on behalf of my son and his friends as a base before walking Blencathra. All four stayed in the 4 bed mixed dormitory and they were very impressed with the facilities and the location. They used the communal kitchen for their evening meal and walked into town for their breakfast, before walking that morning. The group stated that it was a really welcoming place, clean and a great option for anyone wanting to experience the area.

Cons: Nothing to dislike.

Great stay with friends in a great location. Walking, beer, curry and live music, top weekend!

Pros: Great setup, very accommodating and well organised. Warm comfortable rooms and really good facilities. Short walk into town. Kitchen and communal areas had everything we needed to cook a full English for 12 people.

Cons: Nothing not to like!

A well needed peaceful nights sleep. Would definitely come again.

Pros: I had a very peaceful night at Denton. The proximity to the town and the condition of hostel where very good plus’s. I would recommend this place to everyone of my friends.

Cons: No negatives. I couldn’t get in at first because I never read the message I received properly. This was sorted straight away with one call . Staff where more than understanding.

Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful. The dormitory was spacious and clean. The bathrooms and shared spaces were also clean and nice to use. A full kitchen, with oven microwave and kettle plus plates and cutlery were all available to use and there was a lounge and dining area too.

Cons: The beds were creaky. Towels are not provided for free, so guests have to bring one or pay to use. The plug sockets were not close to the beds, and only on 1 side of the room but more can be found in the dining room too.

Just what i needed

Pros: Booked this last minute due to being rained out camping It is very convenient and easy to check in with the night porter Comfy beds Booked mixed dorm, but it was actually female only 😊

Cons: The shower cubicle was tiny. Couldn't have the curtain closed as it kept touching me 🤮, also not all that powerful A distinct lack of plug sockets. Only 4 for a room of 10
