Great stay!

Pros: The size and decor of the rooms was lovely and it was also in a convenient location.

Cons: A little cold in the evening as the space is so large to heat up adequately however the owner kindly gave us plug in heaters to sort that out which it did.

Pros: Very nice hotel, family run, lovely rooms with a very nice view. Bar area looked really nice too. Bathrooms were spacious and really had nothing to complain about! we'd definitely stay again.

One night stay

Pros: Welcoming host. Easy to get into Dumfries. Garden room well appointment. Very comfortable bed. Amazing shower

Pros: Location and the room. Very clean and comfortable and very nicely decorated.

Cons: Breakfast should be better. Otherwise, everything else was great.

Torr House is a great location to stay after a funeral at Rucan Loch!

Pros: After a long journey and the funeral tea of one our cousins it was great to be able to stay at Torr House Hotel. The chef took on my dietary restrictions as a challenge and provided me with a substantial sandwich before the funeral service and then proceeded to provide me with tasty treats at the tea and a delicious dinner with dessert in the evening – all meeting my very challenging dietary restrictions. Thank you so much for going to so much trouble on my behalf. Also much appreciated was allowing me to just sit in the library for the morning whilst my sister drove my brother to his destination the following morning until my sister returned and there was room for me in her car. Throughout my stay I couldn’t have been made to feel more welcomed.

Cons: My only criticism of the room that I stayed in was that, for me, the bed was a bit too high. But otherwise everything was very comfortable, clean and calming.

Lovely stay

Pros: The hotel was beautiful and clean. Rooms were lovely

Cons: Unfortunately the experience in the restaurant wasn't the best. The order was wrong and we did not want to wait another 45mins to get the right order. The lady did try to sort it. Menu needs a rethink. Not alot of choice

Very enjoyable

Pros: Simple breakfast, cereals, toast, yoghurt but perfectly adequate. Room very spacious, lovely decor throughout. We had a meal one night, not an extensive menu but very tasty and freshly made.

Pros: Toor house is a lovely hotel in a quiet location. This is a family owned hotel and the owners are lovely. The restaurant offers a great selection of meals at a great price. The food was exceptional. I will be back!!!!!
