Lovely night away

Pros: The hotel feels very cosy, lovely decor, great facilities, perfect location and friendly staff.

Cons: We had an upgraded room, but it was very noisy as we were near a delivery entrance or the kitchen.

Quality comfortable, centrally located spa hotel, with friendly helpful staff, well worth a visit.

Pros: Stayed on a B&B basis, breakfast was excellent. Rooms very spacious and comfortable, SPA facilities a nice bonus . Centrally located, so you can drive to the hotel and basically leave your car in the car park!

Brilliant value,brilliant stay, totally awesome.

Pros: Beautiful as usual. We had the holiday home, the run of two lodges combined. It was huge, fabulously furnished and in a great location right on the small river than runs alongside it. I want to live here it’s amazing.

Cons: Everything it was great. Would be better in the summer to sit outside until it get dark. Absolutely can’t fault the place at all.

Great stay

Pros: Great location, we got it for a good price. The spa was lovely but a little small! Gin and tonic in the room was a nice touch. Full size toiletries. The staff were all very helpful.

Cons: The spa was small and when busy was overcrowded. You need to go outside to access the spa. Which would be lovely in warmer weather

Good location to explore Grasmere and surrounding area.

Pros: The location of the hotel is just a short walk to the centre of Grasmere making it ideal to explore this quaint village. Hotel receptionist Joanne was really friendly and helpful on local details. Our room was spacious, clean and pleasantly decorated. It also had a small balcony with a table and 2 chairs overlooking the river. Breakfast was good with self serve continental choices and cooked food to order. Evening meal choices were plentiful with several GF options. The Spa consists of steam room, sauna and hydro therapy pool ( not a swimming pool). It is located in the hotel grounds with amazing views of the surrounding fells through the floor to ceiling windows. The Spa isn't overly big so at peak times I imagine it will get crowded.

Cons: We stayed when the hotel was fully booked and as a result breakfast was very busy. This did mean there was a wait for cooked food.

Pros: Wonderful comfortable bed. Whole room so lovely added touch with bottled water. Friendly staff. Evening dining was excellent- expertly cooked and presented quality food.

Pros: Lovely room with a view ,complimentary drink in the room . We loved it

Cons: We had to pay parking ,but we saw people park up and go for a walk ,return and drive off . Very unfair system for guests who are paying to stay in the hotel and then pay for parking, while others don't

Pros: Location stunning, staff wonderful, room one of the nicest we've stayed in. Spa access top notch. Breakfast exceeded expectations.

Cons: Evening dining food was a bit of a let down. We had the chateaubriand and the cut and cooked temp wasnt what we'd usually expect. Still nice and we didnt complain bht left a little to be improved on.
