Traditional Country Hotel

Pros: Fantastic staff, welcoming, chatty & helpful. Beautiful building, lovely location and Gizmo, the hotel cat is a stunner.

Cons: Appreciate it is an old building, but the bedroom was a bit 'tired'. Shower room needs an upgrade/refurb. Two comfy chairs and a mattress topper required, bed very firm and nowhere comfy to sit in room. No comfy lounge to sit with a coffee & newspaper or book.

Lovely hotel great stay

Pros: Beautiful period hotel - immaculate, lovely staff, lovely room and great breakfast

Cons: I booked the wrong town I wanted to go to Wigtown not Wigton but still enjoyed my stay in the wrong hotel in the wrong country!

Pros: The building was lovely, well decorated and warm. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. We enjoyed our meal and a good selection of drinks.

Lovely comfortable stay with good food!

Pros: Lovely country hotel. Nice and clean. Spacious well appointed bedrooms, some with interlocking doors for families. Good choices for evening meal and tasty. Breakfast also a great selection. This is our second visit.

Pros: Great breakfast (kippers - delicious). Very friendly and welcoming staff.

Cons: I find the water pressure in the rooms (shower) fairly low

Lovely country house stay- excellent value B and B

Pros: The staff are super helpful and friendly. The family room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed a good evening meal in the bar. Excellent cooked breakfast. Dog friendly.

Really great

Pros: Booked because it was a convenient point to break our journey and had a restaurant with a children's menu and parking. Turned out way better than expected - friendly staff, beautiful historic building with halloween decorations, very nice food, extremely good value for money.
