Fabulous isolation. Very cosy.

Pros: Fabulous scenery, comfy bed and a great breakfast. Log fire made up for my arrival.

Cons: Very narrow road for the last 3 miles. Don’t even think about if you’re driving a motorhome.

Great breakfast, nice clean and tranquil cottage!

Pros: Great little cottage! Pat was fantastic, breakfast was so good, especially the black pudding! Plenty of wood for the fire which made it really cosy and warm in the evening!

Cons: Perfect location for some great walks in the langdale valley!

Pros: Blea Tarn house is in the stunning location, surrounded with great hiking trails and sightseeing locations. The accommodation was very comfortable, warm and well maintained; nothing was a miss. The hosts cooked big, hearty breakfast, and plenty of refreshments were provided during the stay. Wonderful, unforgettable stay at Blea Tarn.

Romantic, secluded stay in a picturesque location.

Pros: B&B in a beautiful, secluded spot in the lakes. You are staying in the only house up at Blea Tarn. It is a fantastic house, with lots of space - we were expecting a room, but you have a full private lounge, bathroom and bedroom. Breakfast is brilliant, with lots of filling options, and the garden is filled with the owners' ducks and chickens. It is a short walk down the hill to local pubs.

Great for lovers of the rural and rustic

Pros: Great rural retreat, high up above the green valley of Langdale. Your own space, with bedroom and bathroom up steep wooden stairs above living/dining room. Quite rustic, but bathroom is clean and modern and Starlink WiFi worked fine. Sue and Pat are very friendly and helpful.

Cons: House is on a steep single-track road with passing places. It was fine in daylight, but wouldn't be fun to drive at night if you're not used to such things. I would have appreciated real coffee with breakfast, rather than sachets of Nescafe.

Characterful cottage with accommodating host.

Pros: Beautiful, tranquil location with lovely, friendly host. Lots of little touches to make the stay special. Use of own living room and entrance. Car parking was flexible beyond checkout time. Lots of local walks. Thank you, Sue.

Historic home in gorgeous setting, with warm hospitality and delicious breakfast

Pros: Lovely, historic home in an amazingly beautiful setting. Comfortable and clean quarters. Sue and Patrick were gracious and generous hosts, and the full Lakeland breakfast was a perfect start to a day of walking. I hope to return sometime!
